[2:47] Yes. Does God say, well, only the people that get to hear about the Lord Jesus Christ and the gospel of the grace of God, salvation by grace through faith, and that not of yourselves.

[5:17] In all directions, equally. Right? Now, in an unconstrained system, when an explosion happens, where does it go?

[5:28] Outwardly, equally. Outwardly. So, if the Big Bang was right, the universe should be round, spherical, shouldn't it?

[5:43] But it isn't. It's almost planar. Who has the evidence? Now, I'm not real bright, but even I see that.

[5:53] So, I don't think it's a question of, do I have the evidence? It's, I demand that the evidence say this.

[8:16] right yeah and even even in not so much in entertainment in my lifetime but even it was acknowledged by entertainers a while ago but now we are as a society we are increasingly profane in every sense of that word whether it's in the connotation of the obscenities or whether it's in the actual definition of profane meaning anti or apart from secular so we are as a society increasingly antagonistic toward the message of the gospel and you're right that's that's the idea of the idea of street corner preaching doesn't fly as well anymore now and you think of that you know with the the crosses in your flower bed right by the stoop so that it can be seen from the street the jehovah's witness and the and the mormons might not come to my house but at least they know some will because they want to challenge but it's not going to be real common

[10:14] I would guess yes Joe I was just going to say the Billy Graham organization used to be Billy Graham he'd rent big auditoriums and have thousands of people come and also thousands of people and go to TV but now that organization is just a social institution more or less I think of them of having hospitals and feeding the people here feeding the people there but preaching the word you just see them going by the wayside as far as that organization I know they do some but that isn't the way you see them now as you call them back in my time 50 years ago right right but the need is still there and the message is still true so we don't just stop because the society goes haywire yeah in in many places that we'll be meeting you're exactly right it now

[17:28] Babel then we came to the call of Abraham where is Abraham he's now called Abram but where is Abraham Ur of the Chaldees now there weren't Chaldeans at that time or at least they weren't called Chaldeans at that time but this is a history that is given so that they the people of Israel can attach the geography and the peoples to what's going on right so I would say in Ohio history what little I know of it I'd say well Tecumseh Tecumseh of the Shawnee tribe was born in Xenia well there wasn't a Xenia right and

[18:31] I couldn't I can't pronounce the name of the village I have seen it anglicized written but I can't pronounce it but it's basically old town when where 235 comes comes into 68 down in that area somewhere in that area is a village where Tecumseh was born now that doesn't mean so when I say he was born in Xenia it doesn't really mean that there was a Xenia then right so when he says there are the Chaldees it doesn't necessarily mean that when he was there they were called Chaldeans they're going to be called Chaldeans later but it gives the historical reference to the people okay I know where they were I know where they were see we know where Chillicothe is but we don't know where the village was and we know where Picwa is but

[20:43] Abraham Abraham gets called by God I don't know how this occurred we know that God actually spoke to him I don't know why but God says get you up head for a land I'm going to show you I'm going to make of you a great nation and through you all the peoples of the earth will be blessed that's all he said to him when he was in Ur he didn't really tell him in Ur where he was going although at least in the scripture although Haran Abraham's father picks up the whole family unit and they head for Haran and they're on their way to Canaan so nevertheless Abraham gets called then he goes down and he's with his nephew named

[21:50] Lot Lot's going to play into this quite a bit so he's with his nephew Lot and all of Lot's possessions and all of them moved down into Canaan now they've entered Canaan and when they enter Canaan God says to Abram I'm going to give you this land this is yours and to your descendants and after Lot Lot and Abraham's lots and Abraham's herdsmen clashed because they were wealthy they had big herds so they're going to split right so yeah there wasn't enough pasture for all of them so

[22:51] Abram says to Lot you take this and I'll go here no okay he gave Lot the choice alright alright so Lot Lot deferred to the old man and he said you take the best part and I'll go here no okay so he looks on the plains of Sodom and he says man that's good pasture and that's where he goes and then after he leaves God says get up Abraham I want you to walk through the land up and down side to side because I'm going to give this all to your descendants and he makes him the promise again now while while in this stage of the of

[23:57] Genesis this king the there's a group of five kings north of them that form a group and they come down and they plunder these lands where Lot's living and grab everybody what's Abraham do he goes to the rescue and he goes and takes them all and then we get into the priest Melchizedek and we we are introduced to Melchizedek as a type of the well as a type of Christ isn't he he's typical of what because the writer of Hebrews is going to say that Jesus is a priest but he's a priest not of the order of Levi but of the order of

[24:57] Melchizedek so which didn't have a regular order necessarily by regular I mean a descending order for all time but he's used as a type of Christ by the writer of Hebrews to say look priesthood's changed it's different now the law was a picture I don't mean to digress too far so I won't or I'll try not to the law was a picture now that the reality has come now that Jesus has come it's time to leave this and go here that's why he uses in the later chapters of Hebrews he uses words like the time has passed for you to be instructed about various baptisms and this and that and the other thing and then he says because he suffered outside the camp let us go to him outside the camp it's the

[26:05] Hebrews is also a transitional book it's written to Jews who believe in Christ but he's saying it's time to leave and get over here so Melchizedek is introduced and that's also going to be used because in as a type of Christ because Abraham's going to pay tithes to Melchizedek and now does Abraham take all the booty for himself by the way no no he says he says I'm not going to take any of it you let the young men who went with me you let them take their share but Abraham's not taking anything so Abraham did not take the booty because he's trusting God we find that out in also in Hebrews in chapter 11 and 12 okay

[27:08] God reiterates to him and here here is where the Abrahamic covenant is made it's what chapter 15 I think right the Abrahamic covenant and this is a wonderful picture isn't it this is a beautiful picture so God says I'm going to make a view he reiterates the promise I'm going to make a view a great nation in you while all the nations of the earth be blessed I'm going to multiply your seeds as the stars in the sand I'm going to do all this now Abraham then asked him a question well how will I know this I don't have an heir Eleazar of Damascus is my heir now Eleazar is the chief slave by chief slave he apparently is the head steward of

[29:22] Romans because Paul is going to use that as the promise given to Abraham is not set aside with the coming of the law it was one way so anyhow let's keep going now he God does tell him though at this same time he does tell him a little bit about what's going to happen your descendants are going to go into a land where they will be servants they're going to be sojourners in a land that's not theirs and they're going to live there about 400 years and then I'm going to bring them out with a high hand and I'm going to and they're going to come out with as a great people and they're going to come out with great possessions now it's not said

[30:25] God does not tell Abraham here what we will read later in Genesis which is that they plunder Egypt because God puts it in the Egyptians heart to give them a lot of money but nevertheless God does tell Abraham they're going to be now by the way why was that part important to the people who are reading this account they just came out of Egypt not long ago right well and they weren't to go back right right but that that's way that's way down our line but but the important thing is that you know the people reading the history are to be constantly reminded that they came out of Egypt by the way we just celebrated
