The Jewish Final Solution to the World's Problem - The Woes of the Jews Worldwide

[0:00] Please open your Bibles to Luke's Gospel, Chapter 19, and eventually we will get there, but I want you to have the place in mind when we do.

[0:11] I have some introductory propositions to consider with you before we get to the text. First, nearly a year ago, we began an extensive study of the Jewish final solution to the world's problems.

[0:33] Adolf Hitler placed Adolf Eichmann in charge of the effort to exterminate the entirety of the Jewish race in the 1930s and 1940s, and that effort was officially labeled as the final solution to the Jewish problem.

[0:52] So why was the Jew considered a problem? And for whom was the Jew supposedly a problem?

[1:05] He was a problem because the Jew was regarded as a scourge of Europe. Financially, the Jew was seen to have garnered control of the banking and financial interests of Europe, and with a penchant and drive toward greediness, the Jew was viewed as a pariah of the world.

[1:32] Besides, the Jew had, for centuries, that is, since the first century, been a thorn in the side of all non-Jews throughout the Mediterranean world.

[1:48] The Jew was generally viewed as responsible for the death of Jesus Christ, and was consequently under the very curse of God himself, charged with the crime of deicide.

[2:07] And no one had ever before or since been charged with the crime of deicide. Deicide is the murder of the deity.

[2:18] And the deity, of course, was Jesus Christ. As a result, it was believed commonly that God had placed the Jews under sentence of being hounded, persecuted, abused, ostracized, and vilified wherever he would be found.

[2:40] For centuries, Jewish people would be treated as less than human, scarcely deserving to live.

[2:52] All of this ill treatment and virtual butchering of the entire race of Jews would culminate in places like Treblinka, Auschwitz, Bergen-Belsen, and other extermination camps in Poland and Germany.

[3:09] This was anti-Semitism full-blown. And I have a recommendation and a plea. It is an earnest plea.

[3:23] And I want you to take it seriously. How many of you here have seen the film Schindler's List?

[3:35] Perhaps about half. I would strongly urge those of you who have not seen Schindler's List to do so.

[3:50] I know it's a downer. It's depressing. So get your head out of the sand and wake up.

[4:02] If that's the reason you don't want to see it, it's just because you think it would be too negative. It is negative. It is brutal. It is also factual.

[4:17] We need to be armed with the truth that is in that film. Oh, I know it was put together by Steven Spielberg, who is a Jew. And what would you expect but a favorable treatment of the Jew.

[4:32] But it is an honest treatment. And records everywhere will verify it and bear it out. You really need to see that film. Otherwise, you are seriously lacking in understanding the intensity and the evil that was represented by those of the Nazi regime.

[4:59] Please seriously consider getting that film. You can get it free of charge at the library. It's on DVD. It's available for sale.

[5:12] If you don't want to buy it, don't spend the money for it. You can rent it for nothing. You ought to see that film. Schindler's List. It is a true story.

[5:24] Very well documented. It isn't the meanderings of a Jewish mind or propaganda. It is just plain, cold, hard facts.

[5:35] Unless you happen to be one of whom Jack Nicholson was speaking in the film about the Marine Court Martial.

[5:52] I hope that you're not in that category of whom it would be said, you can't handle the truth. Six million Jews would meet their death between the years 1932 and 1945.

[6:15] A mere 13 years of very efficient killing by the Nazis. And all of this was carried out on the back of an enormous fabrication.

[6:31] A pack of colossal lies that had accumulated over centuries and were propagated by the Nazi Office of Information and Propaganda.

[6:44] The Jew was successfully scapegoated like none other have ever been before or since. The treatment of the Jewish people and its culmination in the Holocaust is without a doubt the greatest single example of how gullible, incredibly naive a population can be.

[7:08] This gullibility that reached a peak during the 1930s and 40s will even yet be exceeded by a worldwide public being duped during the time of Jacob's trouble yet to come.

[7:26] Jacob's trouble. What's that? Jacob's trouble is more trouble for the Jew. Jacob's trouble is referring to a name that is often used as a synonym for the nation of Israel.

[7:44] In fact, it was Jesus Christ himself in a pre-incarnate appearance wrestling with Jacob at the brook Jabbok that changed his name from Jacob to Israel.

[8:01] It is the time of Israel. It is the time of Jacob's trouble, the time of Israel's trouble. It is the time when, believe it or not, the persecution of the Jews in the Holocaust will be seen as relatively minor compared to what will take place during the time of Jacob's trouble.

[8:21] That is synonymous, particularly with the last half, 42 months of the tribulation period that is yet to come, which we'll be studying later in some detail.

[8:34] And if you want to look up the phrase, you can consult the prophecy of Jeremiah chapter 30 and verse 7.

[8:46] And he uses the expression, the time of Jacob's trouble. So, where, how, and why did all this hatred toward the Jewish people begin?

[9:00] And let me just inject here a spiritual principle that I have shared with you a number of times. And in situations like this, we see it coming to the fore and being very well illustrated.

[9:10] I have told you that in keeping with the fall and the failure of our first parents, when they took upon them this sinful nature, their character changed.

[9:25] Their very nature changed. And that changed nature they would pass on to their children, Cain and Abel. And Cain would be the first one to vividly demonstrate the negativity of that nature, when out of anger and jealousy he rose up and slew his own brother, Abel.

[9:48] But part of what is involved in the fall is not only the self-centeredness that is ingrained in all of us, and we talked about this during the 9 o'clock hour. We are all essentially self-centered.

[10:01] We are all egotistical. That is the way the human race is. And not a one of us has escaped it. We're all that way. And the one who doesn't recognize it is simply self-deceived.

[10:16] You are your own worst enemy. I am my own worst enemy. It is that self-centeredness that is at the root of the destruction of all relationships, whether they are marriage, neighborhood, family, school, workplace, or nations.

[10:36] It is self-centeredness that is always the culprit. And in addition with that, another consequence of the fall is our thinking apparatus became severely impaired.

[10:47] Our ability to use logic and reason became flawed as a result of the fall. So that man thinks with a flawed logic. With a skewed intellect.

[11:01] How else do you think we reach some of the ridiculous positions that we do? It is because man is not capable of straight thinking.

[11:12] This is principally why we have the word of God. It gives us the real scoop. 1 Corinthians 1 and 2 talks about the folly of human wisdom.

[11:26] And it is folly ridden. Human wisdom. I care not how brilliant the intellect. I care not if you're talking an Einstein or someone with an IQ who is so high it can't even be measured.

[11:39] It's still skewed. He may be a lot more intellectual and a lot smarter than the rest of us. And he may be the president of the Mensa Club or Mensa Association. But he still has a flawed logic.

[11:52] And this is what enables us to reach all kinds of screwball ideas and conclusions. Which the word of God is designed to straighten out. The Bible gives you the real scoop on life.

[12:04] It tells the truth. Works and all. Let's it all hang out. Doesn't pull any punches. The Bible tells the truth about man. And very often it's not a pretty picture. But it is an accurate picture.

[12:15] So. Men like Hitler. And Friedrich Nietzsche before him. Who was one of Hitler's idols.

[12:27] An atheistic philosopher. Who greatly influenced Hitler's thinking. And. Martin Luther. Had an impact on the Führers thinking.

[12:41] Also. Even though. There was very little. Perhaps nothing. About. Hitler. That could be classified as.

[12:53] Legitimately spiritual. If he was anything. He was. Possessed. By demons. But nonetheless. Hitler. Hitler. Was able to gain.

[13:03] Mileage. And usefulness. Out of the negative invectives. That Luther. Had leveled against the Jew. 400 years earlier. Hitler. And the German people.

[13:16] Of course. Had enormous respect. For Luther. Ultimately. The Lutheran Church. Of Germany. Became the official state church. Still is.

[13:27] And it of course. Was. The outgrowth. Of Martin Luther. And his efforts. And I. Take nothing away from Luther. From the standpoint. Of his being. A great intellect. A prodigious writer.

[13:39] A man. Of enormous capability. But his thinking. Was skewed. Just like everyone else's. And he was greatly. Influenced. By the negativity. Of St. Augustine.

[13:50] And who was Augustine? Again. One of the most. Brilliant individuals. Who ever lived. And if you ever read. His city of God. Or the confessions. Of St. Augustine.

[14:01] You can appreciate. Something about. The depth. And the character. Of that man. But there were areas. In which he was. Dead. Flat. Out. Wrong. And that of which.

[14:13] We speak this morning. In regard to the Jewish people. Perhaps tops the list. So.

[14:23] Where. How. And why. Did all of this hatred. Toward the Jewish people begin. In its earliest form. Its seedling.

[14:34] Was realized. In the persecution. Of Isaac. By Ishmael. In Genesis. It continued. With persecution. Of Jacob.

[14:45] By Esau. Persecution. And slavery. By the Egyptians. Under the Pharaoh. Later to be dominated. By the Canaanites. When God raised up.

[14:57] The judges. Like Gideon. Samson. And Samuel. Only to be followed. By. A corrupted. Jewish monarchy. That will lead.

[15:08] The Jewish people. Into gross. Idolatry. You see. In the same way. That you and I. Are our own worst enemies. Same is true. Of the Jews.

[15:20] For a Jewish person. His own worst enemy. Is himself. The own worst enemy. Of the Jewish nation. Is itself. Oh I know.

[15:30] They think it's Iran. But it's really. Themselves. And. The greatest. Worst enemy. Of. The U.S. Of A. It's not the Soviet Union.

[15:41] And it's not Iran. It's the U.S. A. We are right now. On a course. That is destined to follow. In the footsteps of Rome.

[15:54] Rome did not succumb. To outside forces. And invading armies. Before they got there. Rome had already. Succumbed. From internal.

[16:04] Decay. And corruption. Rome. Imploded. From within. We. After. Two hundred and thirty some years.

[16:16] Of history. Are hell bent. To do the same thing. And that is precisely. The course we are on. As I speak. The worst enemy.

[16:32] For the Jewish people. Is the Jewish people. Worst enemy. Of the Americans. Is the American people. For the Jewish sin.

[16:47] Of idolatry. God will punish them. By bringing. A heathen power. Against them. In the Babylonians. Led by Nebuchadnezzar. And this.

[16:58] You'll find. Spelled out. In the book of Daniel. As well as. Portions of Jeremiah. And others. The Jews. Will be enslaved. By the Babylonians.

[17:09] And they will be assigned. To that. Removal. From their land. Their. Their. Their walls. Are torn down. The city. Of Jerusalem. Is set on fire.

[17:21] The people. Are put in chains. And literally. Made to walk. All the way. To Babylon. Stragglers.

[17:32] Were put to death. The last king. Of Judah. Was Zedekiah. You'll recall him.

[17:42] As the man. Who was forced. To watch the Babylonians. Execute. His sons. By the sword. And after he had. Witnessed that. Then they.

[17:55] Put out his eyes. And marched him. As a blind man. Off to Babylon. This is for the 70 year.

[18:05] Captivity. All of which. Was prophesied. By the prophet. Jeremiah. He told them. Exactly. What was coming. And he told them. Who was behind it. And all they did.

[18:17] Was deny it. And poo poo it. And call him. A crazy. Cranky old man. Who's just thinking. Negatively. And he's trying. To discourage the people. And he's trying.

[18:27] To intimidate. And threaten. And scare. And all. Don't pay any attention. To him. He's just a crazy old coot. But precisely. Everything. That Jeremiah. Prophesied. Came true. To a.

[18:38] T. Later. After being. Enslaved. By the Babylonians.

[18:48] During the lifetime. Of Daniel. The prophet. Only to be. Later. Liberated. By the Medes. And the Persians. Then.

[18:59] To be subjected. To more persecution. At the hands. Of Haman. In the book. Of Esther. This is the next thing. On the agenda. So the Jew.

[19:10] Is just. Used. As a punching bag. Throughout. These centuries. In ways. That. Just. Defy. Description. I mean. The brutality. And the.

[19:22] Viciousness. You just. Can't imagine. And I am even. Loathe. To. Describe it. Because. Some of it. Is so. Heinous. And so. Graphic.

[19:35] The Jews. Were again. Targeted. For. Extinction. Only. To be saved. By the courage. Of Esther. You read. About that. In the book.

[19:47] That bears her name. In the Old Testament. All of this. Inhumane. Treatment. Was poured out. On the Jew. Hundreds. Of years. Before Jesus Christ.

[19:57] Ever arrived. On the scene. So none of this. Punishment. And persecution. Of the Jew. Prior to the time. Christ was born. In Bethlehem. Can be attributed.

[20:08] To the idea. Of deicide. Neither. The Babylonians. The Assyrians. The Egyptians. And anyone else. They weren't persecuting. Or after the Jew. Because.

[20:19] They had killed. Jesus Christ. He wasn't even. In the picture. But it was for another reason. That they were. Motivated for that. What. What really.

[20:31] Was going on. Was there some. Mastermind. Behind it all. How is it. That the Jew. Alone. Was consistently. Targeted.

[20:42] In this manner. Throughout. Repeated. Centuries. Indeed. There was. And is. A mastermind. Who is.

[20:52] Behind it all. He is none other. Than the principal. Adversary. Of God. Himself. He is the fallen angel. Lucifer. Later. And presently.

[21:03] Known. As Satan. The devil. Or the adversary. The adversary. Is the one. Who opposes. And he opposes. Everything. God.

[21:13] Is about. God. Strangely enough. You will find. Very few Jews. Who even believe this. I don't know.

[21:25] What they would attribute it to. Bad luck. International jealousy. Or what. I don't know. How they would. View that.

[21:37] They have been. On the receiving end. Of. Incredible. And continuous. Ill treatment. For thousands of years.

[21:48] Things. And I dare say. You will look. In vain. To find. A rational. Logical. Reason. For it. But.

[22:01] The adversary. Doesn't work. With logical. Reasons. Neither. Does the human mind. It works. With illogical. Reasons. And that is. Largely. What is afoot.

[22:12] God. As I said. You will find. Very few Jews. Who even believe. This today. Many of them. Don't even believe. That there is. A personal devil.

[22:22] That he ever did exist. In fact. Many Jews today. Don't even believe. There is a personal God. Being Bible believers.

[22:33] Not merely. Bible admirers. We see Satan. And his minions. Surfacing. Throughout the Old. And New Testament. His activities. And influence.

[22:44] Will escalate. And peak. During the tribulation. Described. In the book. Of Revelation. I can scarcely. Wait to get there. It is really. Some kind. Of content.

[22:55] But. I don't want to. Short circuit. The learning process. By jumping into it. Prematurely. So. We'll be patient. Until we get there. A cardinal rule. Of engaging.

[23:07] In any conflict. Is to know. Your enemy. And his capability. This is as basic stuff. As you can possibly get.

[23:17] When you're talking about. Conflict. And military engagement. This is the stuff. That is drummed into. Our men. At Annapolis. And West Point.

[23:28] That when you are in. Conflict. Do what you can. To know your enemy. It's called. Intelligence. Intelligence. And we have all kinds of methods. That we utilize.

[23:39] To gather intelligence. On the enemy. So we can know. As much as we can possibly know. About him. So. As to know. How best to go about. Defeating him. And in this particular case.

[23:51] We have an enemy. That is so shrewd. And so wily. And so successful. And so evil. And so well hidden.

[24:03] And disguised. That probably the majority. Of humanity. Doesn't even believe. He exists. Now that. That is pretty clever.

[24:16] That is pretty clever. Because you will never seek. To defend yourself. Against an enemy. That you don't believe. Even exists. All of this historical position.

[24:30] And persecution. In ages past. Brings us. To where we are. Chronologically. In our current series. Of. The Jewish final solution.

[24:41] To the world's problems. And this morning. We're going to focus. On the text. That we've already referenced. But it is so key. I must ask you. To turn to it. And you're probably.

[24:51] Already there. It's Luke's gospel. Chapter 19. As our Lord Jesus. Was. Entering the city. Of Jerusalem. On his last visit there.

[25:03] Commonly referred to. As Palm Sunday. Everyone thinks. He's going to enter the city. To the welcome. Of a huge celebration. But he knows. What's going to really.

[25:13] Transpire. When he gets there. He knows. How it's going to end. It isn't going to end. Triumphantly. It's going to end. With him on the cross. But he's the only one. Who is aware of that.

[25:25] And beginning. If you will. With verse. 41. Luke chapter 19. And verse 41.

[25:36] And when Jesus approached. He saw the city. And wept over it. And as he wept. Here's what he was saying.

[25:47] If you. Meaning Jerusalem. If you. Had known. In this day. Could I go so far. As to Jesus.

[25:57] Was saying. Jerusalem. And in another place. Thou that stonest. The prophets. And killest those. That are sent unto thee. How often. Would I have gathered you together.

[26:08] Under my wings. As a hen doth gather her chicks. But you would not. And here he's saying. If only you had known. This day. Jerusalem.

[26:19] Right now. As Jesus sat there. On the back of that donkey. Looking over the expanse. Of that city. With all of the hubbub. And activity going on.

[26:30] Because there was preparations. Being made for the Passover. That was upcoming. Huge throngs. Of pilgrims. Coming into the city. From every direction. And it was growing.

[26:40] In population overnight. And he said. If you will only known. In this day. The things. Which make. For peace.

[26:51] And what were those things. That made for peace. Those things. Were found. In this one. The Messiah. And their. Embracing of him. And welcoming him.

[27:02] As a nation. And that would have resulted. In the peace of Jerusalem. By the way. That is a common thing. That is found. Throughout the world. Among the Jews today.

[27:13] I hear it all the time. And I get it from. Jewish friends. Whenever I have anything. To do with them. The phrase is. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

[27:24] It is found in one of the Psalms. Also. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Well here. Here. The peace of Jerusalem. Was standing. On the outskirts of the town. Seated on the back of his donkey.

[27:36] The personification. Of peace. But they didn't have a clue. And as I have said. Not only did they not have a clue. They didn't even have a clue.

[27:48] That they didn't have a clue. But now. They have been hidden from your eyes. For the days shall come upon you.

[28:00] When would that be fulfilled? About one generation later. About 40 years down the road. This time. When Jesus is approaching Jerusalem. For his crucifixion.

[28:12] Is approximately. 30. A.D. Give or take a couple of years. We can't be precise about the chronology. But this is close. And he's talking about.

[28:24] The coming destruction. Of the city of Jerusalem. And that will be. Very well cataloged. Very well.

[28:35] Verified. 70 A.D. Roman general. Titus. Who will later be. An emperor of Rome. He is coming with his army.

[28:47] And they are going to put down. The latest. Jewish revolt. And rebellion. You see. The Jewish people. Historically. Have been just like.

[28:59] Any other people. Of any other time. In that. They want their freedom. They want liberty. They want the ability. To come and go.

[29:09] As they please. They want the ability. To govern themselves. Is there something wrong. With that? Of course not. But there are those.

[29:20] Who don't want you. To govern. Yourself. They want to govern you. The world has always. Been like that. There is always. Somebody.

[29:31] Who wants to take. Your freedom. From you. And replace it. With their control. But. You must understand. It is always. For your own good. Later on.

[29:44] You will thank them. Do you know. What you call it. You call that. Warped. Skewed. Thinking. That permeates. Humanity.

[29:56] And it's out there. So. Rome. Could not afford. To have anyone. Stand up to them. So.

[30:07] The army. I think. I think it was. The 10th legion. That came against them. And this took a long time. It was not done. Overnight. They set up a besieged. City.

[30:18] They surrounded it. Nobody got out. Nobody could get in. And. It wouldn't be long. They were desperate for food. And drinking water.

[30:29] And everything else. And it is estimated. That in this siege of Jerusalem. There were between. 800,000. And 1 million people.

[30:42] Put to death. Plus many. That were led away. Of younger age. Into slavery. Young boys and girls.

[30:54] Into slavery. The elderly. Were disposed of. They killed them all. You know. This sounds. Reminiscent. Of what Hitler. Is going to do. Keep all of those.

[31:06] That were young enough. And could be productive. Working in. The Nazi Germany's. War. Materiel. And personnel. Keep them. Put them in the factories. Put them to work.

[31:16] Like you'll see in Schindler's List. And those who were too old. And couldn't make any contributions. Kill them. They're just vermin anyway. Kill them. Do away with them. Kill them. And the children.

[31:27] Many of the children. They killed. And of course. Many were. Used as slaves. And sex slaves. And. Just. Unbelievable. What happened.

[31:38] In that Holocaust. If you had known in this day. Even you. The things which make for peace. But now. They've been hidden from your eyes.

[31:49] For the day shall come upon you. When your enemies. And by the way. When Jesus said this. Rome was already in control. You'll recall.

[32:00] And had been for a long time. I mean. It was Pontius Pilate. Who was the Roman prefect. Or the Roman governor. And he was put there. In charge. Of all of this district. By the Caesar of Rome.

[32:12] At the time. So. The Jews were already. Under the Roman boot. Matter of fact. Everyone in the. Everyone in the. Everyone in the. Mediterranean world. Was under the Roman boot.

[32:22] Because Rome. Ruled the world. And every now and then. The Jews. Would start. Feeling.

[32:33] Frisky. And somebody. Would rise. That would start. Talking about. Insurrection. And rebellion. And throw off. The Roman yoke.

[32:44] And set our people free. Jesus had one of these fellows. In his group of apostles. You probably.

[32:55] You remember. Simon. The zealot. The word. Zeal. Comes from. Zealot. Simon was a zealot.

[33:06] Do you know what we would call him today? We would call him. A radical. He was one. Who. Who belonged. To the Jewish. Underground. And they would.

[33:17] Hit. Jewish garrisons. Whenever they could. Hit and run. Sabotage. Do all kinds of things. Kind of like. Kind of like. The French underground. Did against the Germans. During World War II.

[33:28] Because. People. People. Just. Naturally. Resent. A foreign enemy. Coming into their land. And taking over. And occupying things.

[33:40] And bossing them around. What nation. Worth its salt. Doesn't resent that. Nobody likes. The South. Resented it. When the North. Did that. During the Civil War. Everybody resents it.

[33:54] You fight for your homeland. It has a special place. In your heart. These are intruders. They are invaders. And that's the way. They viewed Rome. And not only that. But Rome. Exacted enormous taxes.

[34:05] From these people. You either pay up. Or you're going to pay. A heavier penalty. If you don't. Kick into the coffers. Of Rome. This was going on. For decades. And the last.

[34:17] Jewish. Insurrection. The Romans. Said. That's it. We're going to teach them. No less than hell. Never forget. And he took the whole. Tenth legion. Into Jerusalem.

[34:29] And leveled the place. Just. Completely destroyed it. Murdered by the sword. Who knows how many people. Left the city in ruins.

[34:45] Chased all the Jews out. You talk about. Refugees. There's a huge number. Of refugees. They fled. In every direction. That they could. Just trying to get away.

[34:57] And they ended up. In different countries. All over the place. Many of them. Of course. Dying on the way. Just like refugees. Today. Leaving Syria. And Iraq. And headed for Europe.

[35:07] And other places. Because war. Always produces refugees. It always produces. Innocent civilians. Who don't want to. Subject themselves. And their families. To the death.

[35:17] Or the torture. Or whatever. So they flee. They just take what they can carry. And they run. This is going on for thousands of years. Nothing new. This is what man does. To his fellow man.

[35:29] This is what the Romans were doing. To the Jews. In Jerusalem. Throughout the land. And when they finished. Leveling the city.

[35:43] Destroying everything. Of any value. Carrying off all kinds of trophies. I don't know if you've seen pictures of it or not. But. You can get it online. You can see it in all kinds of.

[35:55] Magazines and books. If you go to Rome. There is the. Arch there.

[36:08] I'm not sure about the name. The name that is given to it. But. Carved up on this huge. Stone arch. Through which several cars.

[36:18] Could under. Go under. There is. Carved into that. A huge. Picture. Carving.

[36:30] Of. Men. Carrying. On poles. Items from Jerusalem. And.

[36:43] One of them is. A candelabra. The. Seven or nine branch. Candelabra. That was in the Jewish. Temple. And Rome.

[36:53] Of course. Looted everything. That was of any value. And they brought. These items. Of. Religious furniture. Like the. Candelabra. Back to Rome. As.

[37:04] A trophy. It just added. To their bragging rights. And of course. Along with the trophies. That they brought back. They also brought back. Hundreds. And hundreds. Of Jews. Marching through.

[37:16] The city of Rome. All. Chained. Together. Hundreds. Of them. To the thronging. Cheers.

[37:26] And crowds. Lining the street. Both ways. Hail to the conquering heroes. Here are the Jews. The dregs of society. That they conquered. And brought back with them. As trophies.

[37:37] And of course. They were subjected. To all kinds of. Ill treatment. In. John's gospel. Chapter 11. For the time. We have left. I want you to look.

[37:47] At a passage. That is very disturbing. To Jews today. And I. I honestly. Don't understand. Why. Because. I think. It is very accurate.

[37:58] Although. Jews today. Feel that they are getting. A bad rap. They do not believe. Actually. That Jews. Were responsible. For the death of Jesus. And yet. This is.

[38:08] The main charge. That is leveled against them. Now. It is interesting. To note. That throughout. The centuries. Many. Who have accused. The Jews.

[38:19] Of the crucifixion. Of Jesus. In reality. Could have cared less. About Jesus. Anyway. It is. That they were. Profound believers. And they were. Lamenting the fact.

[38:29] Of Jesus death. And these Jews. Who put them. Most of them. Could have cared less. About Jesus Christ. But there were. Of course. Some true believers. And here. In John. Chapter 11. In verse.

[38:41] 47. Therefore. The chief priests. And the Pharisees.

[38:52] And the Pharisees. Convened. A council. At a little meeting. Get together. I want you to note. Who they are. They are the chief priests. And the Pharisees. And for some strange reason.

[39:02] I have never been able. To figure out. Many Jews. Of today. Say. The Jews. The Jews. Were not. Really. Responsible. For the death of Jesus. And I don't know.

[39:13] Where in the world. They get that idea. And they particularly. Have a bone to pick. With John's gospel. More than any of the others. John's gospel. Really bothers them. Because it does use the phrase.

[39:25] The Jews. The Jews. The Jews. A number of times. And they are of the opinion. That it's not valid. That it wasn't the Jews. But the text says. The chief priests. And the Pharisees. Convened. The council. Who were these people?

[39:36] Who were the chief priests. And the Pharisees? They weren't Martians. They were Jews. They belonged to the Jewish establishment. And I don't think.

[39:48] It does anybody. Any good. To try to deny them. If they are talking. In terms of. The Jewish population. As a whole. The common people. That's true. No.

[39:58] They did not. As far as we can determine. They did not support. The crucifixion of Jesus. And trying him. By Jews. By. By. Pontius Pilate. The common people.

[40:10] Heard Jesus gladly. They were not opposed to him. They marveled at his teachings. And at his miracles. In fact. Jesus was so popular. With the common people. The religious authorities.

[40:22] Knew. They could not. Arrest Jesus. During the daylight hours. Where there would be witnesses. Because they would surely. Have a riot on their hands. Because of the people.

[40:33] With whom Jesus was popular. So they arranged this scheme. In the middle of the night. About two o'clock in the morning. In the garden of Gethsemane. The whole thing. And you know the rest of it. Is history. So the chief priests.

[40:43] And Pharisees convened a council. And were saying. What are we doing? For this man. This is Jesus. Is performing. Many signs. That's another word for miracles.

[40:54] Simeon. If we let him go on like this. You realize. Don't you. We've got to put a stop to this. Because this thing. Is getting out of hand. If we let him go on.

[41:06] All men will believe in him. Now they didn't believe. All men would believe in him. In a legitimate fashion. They just believed. That Jesus was so charming. And so charismatic.

[41:18] And so powerful. In his speaking. That he was able. To hoodwink them all. And these are just a bunch of. Uneducated people. They'll fall for whatever he says. They'll all believe in him.

[41:30] They didn't believe in him. Because they were convinced. That he wasn't the Messiah. That he wasn't for real. Many will believe in him.

[41:40] And the Romans will come. And take away. Our place. What was their place? They were in cahoots. With the Romans. They had cushy positions. They had special perks.

[41:52] Provided them. By the Romans. And if we don't stand up. To this Jesus. And deal with him. In a final way. There's going to be. A big insurrection.

[42:02] And Rome is going to. Hold us responsible. We'll get kicked out. Of our positions. Why? We might even have to. Get a regular job. But a certain one of them.

[42:14] Caiaphas. Who was high priest. That year. Said to them. You don't know. Anything at all. Listen. You people. Aren't thinking correctly. Don't you see.

[42:26] What's happening here? Look. Nor do you take. Into account. That it is expedient. For you. In your position. That one man. Should die. For the people.

[42:36] Who is that one man? Jesus. Sacrificial lamb. Hand him over. Let's get rid of him. I'll bet. If we go about this. The right way.

[42:48] We could even get. The Romans. To do our dirty work. And the people. Won't be any wiser. Now. This he did not say.

[42:58] On his own initiative. But being high priest. That year. He prophesied. That Jesus. Was going to die. For the nation. And not for the nation. Only. But that he might. Also gather together. Into one.

[43:09] The children of God. Who were scattered abroad. And look at verse 53. If this isn't. A clincher. So. From. That. Day.

[43:19] On. They. Who. Are. The. They. You've got to go back. To verse 47. The chief priests.

[43:30] The Pharisees. And the council. They convene. That's who the they is. And what are they? They're all Jews. Certainly not one Gentile. Among them. They're all Jews.

[43:42] So. To say that. Jews were not. Responsible. For the death of Jesus. I have no idea. Where in the world. They get an idea. Like that. If they're talking about. The general population. Okay. I'll give you that.

[43:53] I suspect that the average Jew. The average John Doe Jew. Was not at all. In favor of the crucifixion. Of Jesus. And would have changed it.

[44:04] If he could have. So the mass. Of the Jewish people. They were not in favor of it. But the leadership. And folks. You need to understand.

[44:15] In Rome. And in the USA. It always. Begins. At the top. In this case.

[44:26] It began with Pontius Pilate. In our case. It begins. With the Oval Office. And whoever. Happens to be occupying it.

[44:37] Whether Democrat. Republican. Or independent. Independent. It always begins. At the top. And comes down.

[44:49] So. Were the Jews responsible. For the death of Jesus Christ? Absolutely. But. They were not complicit.

[45:01] Alone. Do you realize. That everybody. Had a stake. In the death of Christ. Well surely Marv.

[45:12] You don't mean. Everybody. Because. I wasn't even thought of. Then. That was 2000. Oh no. You were there. You were there. So was I. Everyone.

[45:24] Everyone. That belongs. To the human race. Had a hand in that. Every one of us. Judas. Judas.

[45:35] Judas who betrayed him. Started it all off. He was the traitor. The chief priests. The Pharisees.

[45:46] The official establishment. Pontius Pilate. Was in fall. He was. Certainly responsible. He's the one that signed. The decree of execution.

[45:57] And made it official. He tried to wash his hands. Of the whole affair. But he had unseen blood. All over his hands.

[46:10] Not the kind that would wash off. Roman soldiers. Were responsible. It's true. They were acting under orders. But they were the ones. Who physically. Executed.

[46:21] The savior. They were the ones. Who physically. Nailed him to that cross. And put him there. They were responsible. You and I were responsible. We were there.

[46:34] The old Negro hymn. Asked the question. Were you there. When they crucified my Lord. The answer is. Yeah. Sure was. We were there.

[46:45] We were there. But here's what I want to leave you with. And this is so important to understand. You know who else was responsible? His father.

[47:00] It was the father. Who sent the son. To be the savior. Of the world. And Romans 425. Puts it this way.

[47:12] That Jesus Christ. Was delivered. For our offenses. Our offenses. Questions.

[47:24] Who delivered him? Who delivered him? His father delivered him. The father delivered the son. For our sins.

[47:34] And the son. Was willing. To be. Delivered. And he was raised. For our justification. Now all of this.

[47:45] That we're talking about. The crucifixion. And everything. Surrounded. This is all. Utterly. Totally. Inseparable. From this whole. Issue. About the Jews.

[47:55] Their persecution. Their destiny. All the rest. This is all. Integrated. It's all part of the same package. And I so much. Want you to understand this. And get a real handle on it.

[50:23] On behalf of the. Treatment. That has been heaped upon them. Many times from Christian circles. And we can understand. How this has turned off. Jewish people. How it has blinded their minds.

[50:34] And eyes. And how it has caused. An absolute. Distrust. And sometimes. Even a hatred. For Christianity. We can certainly understand.

[50:44] Why they feel the way they do. And we can see. Why they're not. Eager to come to Christ. As he is presented by so many. In the Christian community.

[50:57] Trust that you will. Use this for building material. For that which lies ahead. Thank you for. Presence of each one this morning. Most of all. For your presence. In Christ's name.
